Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there a dress code?
We want all our participants to be on an equal playing field. We would also like to eliminate any distractions for our participants to create an emotional and intellectual connection.
How long is each conversation?
You get two and a half minutes with each participant of the opposite gender.
What if we don't have a black T-shirt or blue jeans?
Unfortunately, the dress code is mandatory. Anyone breaking the dress code will be turned away without a refund.
Do I have to take off my jewelry?
Yes, part of the dress code is no jewelry or designer wear.
How do I match with someone?
At the end of the event, you will submit the names of the people you'd like to be matched with, in order of preference, with number one being your top choice. We review all the results to see if both parties have written each other's names. Matching also depends on whether the person you choose has prioritized you over another match.
What if my ex is at the event?
It can happen. There's no way around this. It's only 2.5 minutes!
Is there food?
Yes, we will provide food.
How many people?
Each event has an average of 24 participants (12 ladies and 12 guys)
How long is the event?
Generally, the event lasts about two and a half hours.
What time does the event start?
Doors open at 7:45 pm, and the speed dating starts at 8:00 pm sharp. It's important that you are on time!
Why are the tickets so expensive? Other events are cheaper.
Most dating events in the community are sponsored by religious organizations that have donors to help subsidize costs. Rodney’s Speed Dating Events doesn’t have any donors
